The HILL
The Heron Institute Learning Lab (The HILL) provides the in‑person support and connection our students need most, offering:
- Academic support, including tutoring
- Small‑group sessions with our Student Resource Coordinators
- Student events that build socialization and confidence
- Family nights and hands‑on experiences that extend learning beyond the virtual classroom

By combining flexible virtual learning with meaningful, in‑person experiences, we help students stay on track while balancing work, family, and personal challenges,” says CEO David Crook.
Students build strong relationships with teachers who check in regularly, offer guidance, and support their progress every step of the way. They also connect with peers through hands‑on experiences such as science labs, creative workshops, and community‑building activities.
More than just classes, The HILL is a welcoming environment where students feel supported, gain confidence, and develop the skills they need for life after school.
As demand continues to grow, we look forward to expanding to additional locations across South Carolina.
Designed as a true extension of the virtual learning experience, The HILL features three dedicated classrooms for elementary, middle, and high school students, along with a large, flexible multipurpose space that supports hands‑on learning, collaboration, and a variety of learning styles.
