Five Simple Steps to Enroll
Step 1
Access the Parent Portal
The K12 Enrollment Portal provides access to your online application to HVASC, along with real-time alerts and quick links to important info.
Step 2
Submit an Application
Once you’ve begun an application in the K12 Enrollment Portal, click the option to add a new student or continue with your application. Simply fill in the fields with your child’s information, select HVASC, and hit Submit.
Step 3
Complete the Admissions Process
In this step, you’ll provide more detailed information about your child and upload additional documents, such as proof of residency and a birth certificate. For a list of specific documents that will be required, contact our enrollment consultants at 855.661.0946.

Next Steps
All families participate in a pre-recorded webinar with an enrollment consultant. Additional documents, depending on your student’s situation, may be required to complete your enrollment and will be provided within your Enrollment Portal.

Tuition and Official Approval
After successfully completing the enrollment process, your student will be approved. Please check your email for important information regarding your student’s status and how to access the Online School platform.

Eligibility Requirements
Who is eligible to attend Heron Virtual Academy of South Carolina (HVASC)?
Any student in grades 8–12 who resides in South Carolina is eligible for full-time enrollment.
HVASC may be a good fit for students experiencing the following:
- Credit deficiency and high absenteeism
- Lack of success in prior virtual school
- Multiple suspensions within the last 12 months
- Alternative placement requirement
- Expulsion (current or in process) or recommendation for future expulsion
- Academic probation
- Life circumstances that may hinder a student’s ability to succeed, such as mental health, pregnancy, or homelessness
Proof of Residency
While attending HVASC, you must maintain full-time, South Carolina residency.
