Online School Testing and Assessment FAQs
What tests will my student be required to take?
Students who attend Heron Virtual Academy of South Carolina (HVASC) are required to take the following tests:
- K12 lesson assessments
- K12 unit assessments
- Math and literacy benchmark testing
- End of course exams for Algebra I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History and Constitution, which count for 20% of the course’s final grade
- Interim assessments in math, English language arts, and some science and social studies courses
- Formative assessments
- ACT/SAT
- Career Assessment
- Formative assessments
Will my student have to participate in state testing?
Yes. Families enrolling at HVASC must be willing to participate in all state-mandated testing. Enrollment is contingent upon participating in testing.
